Sustainability has been part of Lend Lease culture for more than 50 years and we believe that 'Every Action Adds Up'. For Catalyst Lend Lease, this means being aware of the interconnections - visible and invisible - between how we manage our assets on a day-to-day basis and how these affect the intricate balance of social, economic and ecological systems.

We see it as our responsibility as active corporate citizens to engage in the global effort to reduce the impact of human actions on the world. We recognise that building and sustaining social and natural capital requires the same kind of vigilance and responsible action as when we focus our attention on building and sustaining financial capital.

We maintain a constant awareness of the needs of people today and in the future, and develop business strategies that are socially and environmentally responsible as well as economically sustainable.

We aim to integrate these principles of sustainability into our daily activities as individuals, as partners and as a business so that it becomes second nature and not something we simply talk about in an effort to gain kudos.

Catalyst Lend Lease has made substantial progress in developing new solutions to make our projects - including schools, hospitals, waste management, and accommodation - more sustainable.

Our achievements reflect the demands of our partners and of the end users - students, patients and consumers - who benefit from the introduction of sustainable measures into the projects we manage.

We use a number of indicators to assess our performance, including public benchmarks, ratings and other comparisons provided by independent agencies including:
